There was a pretty good 5 year span where Philadelphia would go and transform into one giant sea of red from April to October. During that period of time from 2007 to about 2012, you’d have to work like really hard to find anybody in the greater part of Philadelphia who didn’t have at least 2 or 3 Phillies shirts in their closet and hit up the Citizens Bank Park a few times during the summer and do not get me wrong, the No.1 team in Philly will always be the Eagles no argue here but the bottom line is if you wanna find half the people of Philly you may wanna hit up the Citizens Bank Park during that stretch on a typical Friday night or Saturday afternoon, just pick
But Then there was a decade of absolute nothing until last year the Phils went on a run all the way to the World Series by bringing baseball back to the people of Pilly. The thing is that it took the Phillies until the playoffs to really get everybody all hot and kinky over their affiliate team the ‘Fightins’ again. And by that time it’s really good to see the Phillies bring baseball back to town as the weather turns and the fans are warming up in their unique way
The sun is out, the sky is clear, the smell of hot fried chicken wings dept with bbq sauce is wafting through the air and the fans are going wild
Fellas next to them must have had a joy hollering over the ordeal as the old folk sitting behind them couldn’t believe what his eyes saw but sure, these old dudes gotta be a bit more cautious cuz if they watch too much of it they might get their heart rate go over the limit… and let alone the poor guy wearing the rally cap in front of them probably pray for the camera guy not to pan to them, but seriously now, get a grip people! there are kids around who might see this so spare the questions kids might ask their poor parents after seeing that.
Having said that, Isn’t that country great?
