Talking shit isn’t mandatory especially when you hold post as head coach but sometimes you gotta do what need to do in order to defend or stand by your team and The Denver Nuggets head coach Mike Malone sure knew that and wasn’t wrong when he decided to go off against all the narrative surrounding after game 1 talking about about the Lakers are still in a good position to take the series while completely weeding out the fact Nikola Jokic had one of the greatest performances in his NBA career or that Jamal Murray can catch fire with the best of them. You pick either one.! while in reality, we all saw what happened last night when the Lakers had no answers for Jokic not to mention Anthony Davis roaming all over the place because he had to solve another problem called Jeff Green. Yeah, well, how’d that work out? Jokic with a ho-hum 23/17/12. Actually might be a little light considering what he’s capable of.
And sure, 2-0 doesn’t mean this series is over but what do ppl want him to say? Ah well, we played well. All Credit to the Lakers and their “king” for trying! hell No! who wanna hear those kinda pecker sucking banal answers? of course, NBA postgame press conferences should be treated respectfully with a cut to the chase kinda answers while keep being professional while representing the organization you come from, but sometimes you need to pick the words that come from your heart even if it feels under the radar at times, there’s nothing like expressing honest thoughts based on real things that happened. Call people out as you win games, that’s pretty much what you’re supposed to do, so yeah, I think it’s good to see an NBA head coach use it from time to time. Really sell the point. Even better is knowing how pissy Lakers fans are going to be seeing Malone talk like that and move the goalposts.
