Not only did The Sacramento Kings win the game of the year last night against the Los Angeles Clippers, but they partook in one of the greatest games ever played in the history of the league.
Let’s face it, as a sports fan, every time I turn the TV on, one of my dreams is to witness something big, something fun and relatively unusual, something to talk about with your friends or even with the cashier at your local grocery store and last night was that day, which is why I always recommend you guys to watch every single night because there’s a great chance you’re going to see some cool shit that you’ve probably never seen before whether it’s Klay Thompson making no less than 12 3PM in a single game against the Rockets but mostly what the Clippers and the Kings provided in a game that was carved in the most memorable moments of the league. In the end, it was the Kings taking the victory after two overtime thrillers which have set the second-highest points scored in a game and it wasn’t a fluke as we could already see where it was going, I mean each team already had 40 pts by the end of the 1st qtr, and the Clippers added another 40 pts and led by 4 80-76 at halftime.
Sacramento sure lighted the beam last night big time after trailing back by 12 pts. They bounced back and weren’t giving up despite the points blitz and the intensity of a game where the first to blink loses. they have shown resilience cause let’s be honest, if one team scores 175 points in a single night, you can’t really expect the opposing team to respond with as many points that would beat that, BUT no when you need to face the Kings and the great effort De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk put into the game all the way to beat the Clippers 176-175. I guess That’s the power of the Beam. It gives you a level of energy that a non-Beam team simply can’t understand.
I’m gonna mention De’Aaron Fox one more time, I mean, let’s give the man some credit as he slowly turns out to be the best clutch player we have. That’s not hyperbole either. Fox leads the NBA in clutch time points by a wide margin with 148 entering this game keeping the hustle all the way to his 42.
Let alone Monk coming up with his 45 pts off the bench and that was one of the better performances we’ve seen lately I mean something feels different with the Kings this year but make no mistake, it all started a few years ago when Sacramento shook things up around their franchise and I personally would very much like to see them end the drought and make it to the playoffs despite having such brutal schedule down the stretch and things get tighter in the west which only empowers Kings’ win last night in addition to Portland game on a B2B not to mention the All-Star break, I mean come on 176-175? that’s an All-Star typical score so it is kinda a big deal for a team currently in the race of their lives.
