When we think of Nikola Jokic, the first thing to come to mind might be his offensive dominance, his versatility, passing, and game intelligence, or even other things he can bring in and out of the court like humor and a fun personality let alone his phenomenal postseason run
I for one, will pick the humility the Joker expresses every time the spotlight is directed at him and he will keep choosing to talk about his teammates rather than himself, and for some people, that would be just another thing to like about the guy, but in my outlook, this is a prominent sign of a leader personality considering this is how he’s been since he entered the league, it’s about as authentic as it gets and it’s not like he’s trying to say the right words or say the things people expect him to say. Hell no!
When he says that he doesn’t care about the MVP, he means it! When he says he doesn’t care about a Conference title, he means it! including when he refuses to accept the notion of being considered the best Nuggets player.
It’s hard to find many players at his status who would keep the same attitude nowadays. especially when he talks about his teammates.
Given the fact that after last year some people talked about how he should take the Nuggets up to the next level while on the other hand, some didn’t want to believe in the Nuggets or Jokic in the playoffs for some reason so it is quite impressive to see how he handled it throughout the season by ending up being the only MVP candidate standing, but he’s also the only one who made a Conference Finals while an NBA title within his grasp.
