Celtics Against The Odds?

That’s true, the Celtics could rally back and win Games 6 and 7 just like they did last year vs the Bucks, face Miami in the ECF, and possess another championship title the second week of June.

But at this very moment while writing these words, what gives us any hope at this point that it is going to happen again, for the second time straight after last year? Well, besides unconditional love and endless loyalty of course.

This team’s main flaws were quite prominent again, this time in the biggest game of the season. for the average viewer, it appeared like they had shown no heart. No effort. No tenacity. They basically took a dump at center court, right on Lucky’s chest (still get bad Kyrie vibes)

let’s start with maybe the biggest star of the Celtics – Jayson Tatum who didn’t show up for the big game, a game that can determine which direction the Bostonians are going. His stats were solid, he fixed himself after another awful start, and he seemed to care a lot obviously. However, his unsatisfied start helped dig us into a hole we could never climb out of. Also, as a Celtic myself, I couldn’t help but not notice too many predictable sidestep threes that weren’t falling and too many complaints to the refs for misses at the rim. And Deuce was probably up way too late watching this disaster. As far as Jaylen Brown, he’s having a hard time dribbling and can’t take FTs. Marcus Smart contributes to a lot of wins but also does to a lot of losses.

Horford couldn’t get a grip offensively and last night it was shown because the threes refused to fall and finished 0/7. I t has to change!

Also Rob sucked and played with the intensity of a Sunday morning LA Fitness run.

Malcolm White and Grant – competed with each other who was the worse among the three, and my lord… don’t get me to start talking about the defense given the importance of the game. Mazzulla was overmatched b Rivers. Glenn Anton ‘Doc’ Rivers. Again. In 2023. Yikes.

If this season ends how it seems like it might, there need to be drastic changes to the core of this team. That’s not an overreaction, that’s the fact. We can’t tweak around the edges and hope for better results. Things need to change. Maybe it starts with some introspection and a new attitude at 7:30 Thursday night. And maybe I hit Power Ball. Anything can happen.

There wasn’t a single redeemable moment from that game that justifies love for this team, or belief things will get better tomorrow. Well, there is ONE THING we can hope for…

Crossed fingers for Game 7.
