As Of Now The Ravens Made Lamar Jackson The Highest-Paid Player In The League And Take Zay Flowers 22nd Overall

Zay Flowers

Wow what a kick-ass day the people of Baltimore Woke up to… none of them including myself had any clue where or how things might unfold. Moving on from an entire era seemed to be at least a decent possibility, with numerous trade rumors afoot ranging from Lamar Jackson himself to DeAndre Hopkins. Damn nearly anything seemed to be on the table, and I’d be lying if I said I was excited about what might unfold.

Turned out… to be one of the best days the Ravens fans can remember as the Ravens simply pushed all of their chips in the middle on Lamar and win another draft day.

For so

For some reason, the Ravens always had some difficulties building around their QB as history shows. For instance in 2012 when the stars aligned with Boldin, Torrey, Jacoby, and Pitta but when it comes to putting a ton of resources into the position and making things clear for their quarterbacks that they count on them all the way by investing and giving them all the tools they need to take this franchise up to the next level? well, It really hasn’t happened. Sure, they’ve picked swings throughout the years on 1st rounders like Mark Clayton or Travis Taylor which didn’t get them too far because they haven’t invested in those swings by expanding their tool kit, to say the least.

But this time, there’s something different with how the Ravens think and it’s like they have shifted their mindset by saying we’re not playing around this time, and sure, maybe It did take demand from Lamar Jackson to get it done, but at least they’re doing it. Odell Beckham was a big free agent move, the type the Ravens stay far far away from. They quietly added Nelson Agholor and have a healthy Rashod Bateman coming back. And now they picked a small speedy WR from Boston College and I can’t wait to see him packing a big punch and be a significant weapon in the slot for years for Lamar. He’ll learn from one of the best to ever run a slant in Odell, and the Ravens already have an embarrassment of riches at tight end. New OC Todd Monken has to be drooling over the possibilities with this offense.

That puts Baltimore in a great position to be a legitimate Super Bowl contender as it should be! after all, the Ravens’ defense was in the top 10 last year, and sure, there are some holes to fill in on that side of the ball with the loss of Calais Campell and probably the departure of Marcus Peters, which might open the door for free agent guys like Rock Ya-Sin, particularly after the comp pick window ends but all in all what a great day it is for the Ravens fans who are expected to sleep much more easily from this day and on. .
